Høegh-Guldbergs Gade 6A

Høegh-Guldbergs Gade 6A houses Vennelystkollegiet, which was built in 1958 and rebuilt in 2007. Vennelystkollegiet is well-situated in the Aarhus University campus. It comprises 23 single rooms, which may be reserved by international Postdocs, PhD students and other international staff, though only as temporary housing for 1-12 months.

The building, which has previously housed a nursing college, was purchased in 1991.

Vennelystkollegiet is situated right between Øgadekvarteret in the centre of Aarhus and the University Park and is surrounding by university buildings and colleges and the Natural History Museum Aarhus. The area is a part of campus belonging to Aarhus University. The University Park is sculpted as a hilly terrain around two lakes and comprises approximately 15 hectares. It was landscaped in 1933 by Landscape Architect C. Th. Sørensen. In 1949 an open air theatre with 3,000 seat was established south of the university’s main building. The park also has a path system and is the largest oak park in the country. The University Park hosts the annual boat race, which is a race between the various unions at Aarhus University. Each year the event attracts around 10-11,000 people.
